The Girl on the Via Flaminia
Flaminia, by Alfred Hayes, was my senior capstone project. Whereas most non-university-sanctioned performances were fragments of plays or ten minute scenes, I felt that was too little to sink my teeth into, and wanted to put up the play in its entirety. I bought the rights, found a director, held an open audition, and found time in the university schedule when a rehearsal studio was unused to perform in. I performed as the male lead opposite the main character. Several of my actors went on to become BFA candidates at UNCG.

Chekhov in Three: the Proposal, with a twist
For a sociological statement piece examining multilinguality, or the lack thereof in America, I chose Chekhov's the Proposal. Each of the piece's three parts were translated into a different language - Russian, Hebrew, and French (I translated the French myself). Each character would converse in their chosen language, and seemingly understand their partner without difficulty. The complete lack of English was kept secret from the audience. I collected reactions afterward, which I included in a Sociology research paper.
I intended a double bill, with Strindberg's the Pariah, but actor issues axed it. I have the text, translated into Spanish and German. I intend to make use of it one day.

Living Statuing
On several occasions I've done living statuing, of a sort. Twice were fairly informal statement pieces.
The third I tied into another sociological experiment, basing three instances of statuing in key concepts of three prominent sociologists. Open response from the public was encouraged by a collection of post-it notes with pens and a bin by my feet.
Below is the final write-up, with all public responses recorded.
